Here are some selected details on this project by Jean-Guy Boisvert, professor at the Université de Moncton:

“A major project of compositions for young clarinetists. We talk here of rather short works, miniatures if you want, but works especially well crafted, interesting and even fun to perform, works that could be played by beginners, first year students up to the 6th year on the instrument. Works for students in high schools. This project aims to put in contact composers and young instrumentalists. Unlike the virtuoso repertoire which includes many works of the very highest quality, compositions of that level for young clarinetists in Canada are almost nonexistent. I hope to present the widest, most open and representative panorama of the contemporary creation of the greatest quality in Canada, and lets dream a bit, make this book an indispensable tool for generations to come.”

My contribution to this project is a work for grade 2 level clarinet player. The music is suggestive of a stealth-like mood, and therefor the title The Sleuth came to mind!
